• The International Real Estate Conference LEARN TO SUCCEED 2018 was held on April 16-18, 2018 at the House of National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, in the ZIRA Hotel, at International Belgrade Building Trade Fair and at the Geozavod building in Belgrade.

      State secretary of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Vesna Kovač was given opening speach and informed all the conference attendees about the results achieved by implementation of the Real Estate Brokerage Law since its adoption in the year 2013, as well as regarding the amendments to this Law which relate to the application of the measures envisaged in the National Strategy against Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing. Miroslav Miletić, advisor to the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia was speaking about the activities of the Group of the Real Estate Brokers and about the reform of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia. The attendees have been welcomed by the Chairman of the Board of the Real Estate Cluster, Nenad Djordjević and the Vice Chairman of the Expert Council Slaviša Pešić, Ph.D. Victoria Silvano, a NAR (National Association of Realtors, USA) Liaison for Global Business and Aliances and Erica Solomon, member of the President’s Circle of the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (USA), expressed their pleasure in regard to the level of cooperation between the National Association of Realtors and Real Estate Cluster. The President of Russian Guild of Realtors Tatyana Demenok supported the idea of more close cooperation between the real estate associations from Russia and Serbia and expressed her hope that such cooperation will soon be at the level of the overall relations between the two brotherly countries.

      On the second day of the conference, Alicia Metson, member of the Global Business and Aliances Committee of NAR and the Expert Council of Real Estate Cluster was speaking about the improvement of the business of Real Estate Brokers and Agents in the globalization process. Dan Negulescu, a Realtor from Romania, talked to the conference attendees about the principles of MLS (Multiple Listing System).

      Victoria Silvano was speaking about practical tools for successful international sale, and John Yen Wong, one of the founders of the American-Asian Real Estate Asociation (USA), was speaking about a day in the life of a successful real estate agent. Ervin Pašanović, representative of Real Estate Cluster, was the moderator of the panel discussion about the real estate advertising on domestic and international market. The other speakers were Paul Gebara, director of the web portal Realopedia from the UAE, Katerina Popović, editor in Halo Ads, Dario Žgela, director of Dimedia Internet Tehnologies, Zagreb, Robert Čoban, the founder of the Color Press Group, Kamil Piorecki from the Polish Federation of Real Estate Brokers and Eric Tran, CEO of the Universal Commercial Capital. Ben Elder, International Director of Valuation of RICS (UK) was speaking about the international standards in valuations, while at the panel discussion on real estate valuation in Serbia the speakers were Ben Elder, Paul Dykes (RICS, USA) and Nikola Seneši from the Association of Valuers. The moderator of the panel was Nebojša Nešovanović, Chairman of the Association of Valuers. The speakers at the workshop on registration of the property rights in the Real Estate Cadaster were Branislav Petrović, representative of the Real Estate Cluster and Saša Ivanišević, representative of the Belgrade Bar Association.
      During the third day of the Conference in the Exhibition Hall 4 of the Belgrade Trade Fair a panel discussion was held about the implementation of the Law on Prevention of Money Laundering and Terorrism Financing.

      The moderator of this panel was the chairman of the Group of Real Estate Brokers in Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Damir Borić, while the speakers were Danijela Maletić, Ministry of Finances, assistant of the Director in the Administration for the Prevention of Money Laundering, Danijela Tanić-Zafirović, Ministry of Finances, Head of the Group for Supervision of the Administration for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Mirjana Veljović, Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Section Head at the Market Inspection Sector. Besides the moderator of the panel on amendments to the Real Estate Brokerage Law, Milić Djoković, M.Sc., Vice Chairman of the Expert Council of the Association Real Estate Cluster, the speakers were Željko Stojanović, the Head of the Group at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, representatives of the Board of Group of Real Estate Brokers in Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Damir Borić and Nebojša Rapaić and Nenad Djordjević, Chairman of the Board of the Real Estate Cluster. Attendees of the panel have concluded that the amendments to the the Real Estate Brokerage Law provide that the employees, persons authorized for legal representation and the founder of business corporation, or sole trader, must not have ben convicted for criminal offenses of money laundering, terrorism financing, business crimes or similar punishable offenses. A security clearance will be done ex officio by the competent Government Ministry. The conclusion of the panel was also that the Law should also be amended to decrease the possibility of work of unlicensed real estate brokers and agents.

      At Geozavod building was held panel about Global and Regional Real Estate Market. The moderator of this panel was Miodrag Cvetković, Vice Chairman of the Board of the Real Estate Cluster, while Raj Rajpal, representative of the Asian-American Real Estate Association was speaking about the global real estate business, Erica Solomon was speaking about the real estate market and real estate business in the USA, Tatyana Demenok was speaking about the real estate market in the Russian Federation, Andrzej Piorecki was speaking about Polish real estate market, while Eva Pavić, representative of the Association for Real Estate Business of the Chamber of Commerce of Croatia was speaking about the Croatian real estate market.

      John Yen Wong gave a lecture on the initiative „One Belt, One Road - the Silk Road“ and of the possibilities for cross-border transactions in real estate business at the Chinese market.

      Real Estate Cluster had organize at International Belgrade Building Trade Fair (which had over 35.000 visitors) in the Exhibition Hall 1 a real estate exhibition.

      Gala Dinner for the conference participants, speakers and guests was organized in the House of Guard of the Army of Serbia in Topčider.
